1.Why should I choose Fairway Green, Inc. over any other lawn care company?
Fairway Green, Inc. is a family owned and operated company. We have been in business since 1987. Most importantly, we pride ourselves for our excellent customer service, professionalism and expertise in the field. All of our programs are very inclusive so that you rarely need additional services. Fairway Green, Inc.’s specialists are full-time, very well trained, and licensed by the New Jersey State Department of Environmental Protection.
2.How do your prices compare?
In our competitive market, prices for similar lawn care programs differ very little from company to company. Be wary of companies that claim to offer their services at a much lower cost or a deal that seems too good to be true. Some companies offer applications from our full programs, such as grub control, potassium, and surface insect control, as extra-cost applications. Their fertilizers may include nitrogen with no slow-releasing properties. They may even be calling a treatment a preventative while actually using a cheaper curative product that is not as long lasting or as effective. If you compare “apples to apples” you will realize that our services are more comprehensive than most other companies, therefore, it is important to compare total annual costs, not just price per treatment. Be assured that cost reflects quality and Fairway Green, Inc. uses the highest quality products available.
3.What is the difference between liquid versus dry treatments?
To date, research has not found any major agronomic differences between liquid and dry fertilizers of similar analysis. The bottom line is that both types of products can accomplish the same goal – a healthy green lawn and landscape! The fact that the fertilizer is dry does not make it slow release nor does being liquid mean it is a quick releasing nutrient. The major difference between companies comes down to the broadleaf weed control aspect. A dry broadleaf weed control requires ideal conditions for good results ( i.e. wet turf surface, but not raining), while our liquid broadleaf weed control treatment is less dependent of ideal conditions to work properly.
4.Why do I have weeds?
A wide variety of weed seeds are present in all lawns and can germinate throughout the year. They will be most prevellent in thin or bare areas, along curbing and walkways, and in areas of distressed turf. The best defense against weeds is a thick and healthy lawn! Because there is not a cost effective preventative for broadleaf weeds, Fairway Green, Inc.’s lawn programs offer weed control several times a year. After a weed control application is applied, the weeds begin to curl and wither. It can take up to 14 days for complete control. Mowing immediately after treatment, can reduce control. Broadleaf weed control is not a preventative; therefore, it will only kill the weeds that are present at the time of the application. As part of our Gold & Platinum programs we provide free service calls to control weeds in between scheduled visits.
5.What happens if it rains after my application?
Many of the products we apply actually benefit from any rain that may occur after an application with the exception of the broadleaf weed control. If it rained after receiving broadleaf weed control, and you don’t see the weeds curling up within 14 days, please call our office for a free service call to re-spray the weeds.
6.When is it safe for people and pets to go on the lawn after an application?
The product label is what dictates the re-entry time onto the treated area. All of the products that Fairway Green, Inc. uses direct the consumer to stay off and away from the treated area until the application is dry. On a normal day, an application should dry within 2 to 4 hours.
7.How does my service work from year-to-year?
For your convenience, and because regular treatments are a necessity for a successful program, Fairway Green, Inc. provides an automatic year-to-year renewal of all scheduled treatments from our Lawn Care, Tick Care and Tree & Shrub Care programs unless we hear otherwise from you. In early January of every year you will receive a letter indicating the treatments we have you scheduled for, the prices of the treatments and an opportunity to take advantage of a pre-payment discount. Additionally, in early February of every year we are required by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection agency to supply you with a “Customer Information Notice”. This notice also indicates the currently scheduled treatments along with other pertinent information. Please feel free to call us at anytime to make changes to your program, however, you must contact us before 7 a.m. on any given day to make changes effective that day. We have 24 hour voice mail for your convenience.
