When is the best time to seed?

Years of experience has shown the prime time for lawn seeding is in late August through early October.

• The fall gives enough time for grass seed to germinate and establish before winter. Spring seeding often leaves immature plants susceptible to disease, drought and heat stress, making it difficult for them to survive through the summer.
