Ornamental Tree & Shrub Care
Our professional ornamental tree and shrub care programs are designed to help maintain plant health, vigor and suppress most common pest problems. Our Integrated Pest Management approach includes monitoring the landscape, implementing cultural, physical, biological and chemical controls. It is neither necessary nor desirable to treat every plant during an Insect and Mite treatment. Plants are treated based on the presence of target insects. In order for any Fairway Green ornamental tree and shrub care program to be successful, we are dependent upon your full cooperation with cultural practices such as watering, pruning, proper mulching, monitoring of your property and following our recommendations. The proper implementation of these practices has a substantial effect on the quality of your landscape. During our visits to your property, we will make you aware of any problems that we notice and resolve them, or offer solutions if they are outside the scope of our service.

APPLICATION DESCRIPTIONS
Pre-Emergent – A granular pre-emergent applied to the landscape beds to help suppress certain annual broadleaf weed populations.
Dormant Oil – Applied in early spring on the appropriate trees and shrubs to help control over-wintering insects and insect eggs. Examples: scales, adelgids, mites. This treatment is not applied to blue conifer or Japanese maples.
Insect And Mite 1– This visit is targeted only toward plants harboring spring insects and mites. Plants are treated based on presence of target insects. Examples: spruce spider mites, Eastern tent caterpillars, aphids.
Insect And Mite 2 – This visit is targeted only toward plants harboring insects and mites active during the mid-summer months. Plants are treated based on presence of target insects. Examples: lace bugs, two-spotted spider mites, Japanese beetles.
Insect And Mite 3 – This visit is targeted only toward plants harboring late season insects and mites. Plants are treated based on presence of target insects. Examples: spruce spider mites, lace bugs, fall webworms.
Deep Root Fertilizer – This fall treatment combines a complete fertilizer with an organic soil conditioner. Together they are designed to increase plant vitality and improve poor soil conditions. All trees and shrubs are treated.
Anti-Desiccant – During the winter months broadleaf evergreens lose moisture due to continued photosynthesis and frozen soil conditions. This water loss, called evapotranspiration, can cause damage to leaf tissue. This treatment provides a protective barrier against evapotranspiration.
ORNAMENTAL TREE AND SHRUB CARE: ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Systemic Soil Injection – A systemic soil treatment used to suppress twenty plus troublesome ornamental insects. Examples: lace bugs, soft scale, Japanese beetles, etc.
Leafminer – A systemic soil treatment to suppress birch, holly and boxwood leafminer infestations.
Leaf Disease – Treatments to suppress common leaf disease such as scab, anthracnose, rust, etc. A minimum of two applications are necessary.
Mycorrhizae – Mycorrhizae soil injection is an inoculation with beneficial fungi. Mycorrhizae aid in the absorption of water and nutrients.
